Institute for the Study of Adult Literacy

We cooperate with the Institute for the Study of Adult Literacy at Penn State University on data analysis for adult basic and literacy education programs for the Bureau of Postsecondary and Adult Education in the Division of Adult Education of the Pennsylvania Department of Education. We have also worked with the Institute on a project to identify work-based foundation skills for employees, basic skills certificate development, an evaluation of family learning centers operated by the Literacy Volunteers of America with funding from Verizon, an evaluation of the Queens Borough (New York) Public Library's video teleconferencing program, and an evaluation of Pennsylvania's statewide Educational Quality for Family Literacy Initiative.

Center for Schools and Communities

We have worked with the Center for Schools and Communities on evaluations of Pennsylvania's Family Center Initiative, which was designed to encourage economic self-sufficiency for families through adult education, training, and employment; assure healthy development and healthcare services for children; and promote child development through effective parenting, early intervention, and outreach services.
