Institute for the Study of Adult Literacy
- Lancaster-Lebanon Intermediate Unit 13
By The Numbers is currently working with Lancaster-Lebanon IU 13 to
evaluate their Readiness and Emergency Management for Schools (REMS) project, which is designed to
create, strengthen, and improve emergency management plans in local school facilities. We are also currently working with IU 13
on the Achieving Rigor and Relevance in Math and Science (ARRMS) project, which is designed to increase academic achievement of
secondary students in mathematics and science by enhancing the content knowledge and teaching skills of classroom teachers.
By The Numbers recently worked with IU 13 to evaluate their Early Reading First project, which is designed to improve the literacy skills of young children. We also recently worked with them to evaluate a three-year educational plan to provide Pennsylvania secondary school students with the knowledge and skills to make an informed decision about organ and tissue donation.
By The Numbers has also worked with IU 13 and Millersville University on an evaluation of a project aimed at increasing and enhancing the skills of teachers, administrators, and support staff in IU 13 school districts when working with English language learners, on a survey of Pennsylvania ESL programs, on developing indicators of program quality for adult basic and literacy education in Pennsylvania, on program improvement practices in adult basic and literacy education programs in Pennsylvania, and on designing an organ and tissue donation awareness curriculum for Pennsylvania high-school students. - World Relief
