By The Numbers is working with Morgan State University on the
evaluation of their MARC U*STAR (Undergraduate Student Training in Academic Research) program.
The MARC U*STAR program
provides support for undergraduate students who are members of minority groups who are underrepresented
in the biomedical sciences so that these students can improve their preparation for graduate training
in biomedical research.
We have also worked with Morgan State University of evaluations of their RCMI (Research Centers Minority in Institutions) program and MBRS SCORE (Minority
Biomedical Research Support - Support of Continued Research Excellence) program. The RCMI program provides funds to enhance the
research infrastructure and capabilities at Morgan State in the areas of biomedical, behavioral, and
environmental health. The MBRS SCORE program is designed to increase the number of underrepresented
minorities participating in the biomedical sciences or in health professions.
